Sandcastles, Ships, and Dragons!

Tour the military ships 

From the colorful dragon boat races on the Willamette river to the creative sandcastles at the beach, there are many things to see and do this weekend from Portland to Cannon Beach. So put on your walking shoes and get ready to explore! 



See dozens of elaborate creations on the Pacific coast at the Sandcastle Contest in Cannon Beach for free!

Watch 80 teams compete in a series of races on the Willamette River at Portland Rose Festival Dragon Boat Race at Tom McCall Waterfront Park south of Hawthorne Bridge.

The 10 a.m. Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade has floral floats, marching bands, and optional indoor seating where it begins in Veterans Memorial Coliseum. To participate, register for the 9:30 a.m. Grand Floral Walk of 4.2 miles. Also, don’t forget tour the military ships during Fleet Week!

Watch the Portland Timbers play San Antonio on Merlo Field at the University of Portland.





See 500 hot rods, classics, collector & custom cars, a burnout contest, vendors, a kids’ zone, and a beer garden with live music at Cruisin’ Sherwood.
